General

By accessing or using this website and placing an order, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. You must be at least 18 years old or have consent from a guardian, reside in Australia (no international shipping), and use the site in compliance with Australian law.

Products and nature of sale

  • We sell live stingless bee hives of the species Tetragonula carbonaria, honey (“sugarbag honey”), hive boxes, bee hive materials and beekeeping gear.

  • Bee hives are seasonal, with availability dependent on local climate and bee life cycles.

  • Hive photos and descriptions are representative only. Actual appearance, and colony size may vary.

 

Live beehive orders

  • Live hives are only sold to eligible regions within Australia where stingless bees are endemic (Qld, NT, northern NSW). If shipped to areas outside these ranges, survival cannot be guaranteed.

  • Delivery or collection must be by appointment. Post-shipment, the care and environment are the buyer’s responsibility.

  • Weather, disease, or biosecurity concerns may cause order deferrals or cancellations.

  • Live bee products are non-refundable unless issues are reported within 24 hours of receipt, with supporting photos.

 

Hive garuantees

  • In the case that a hive dies or is determined to be close to or on the path to dying within the agreed garauntee period, we will fully replace the hive.

  • We try our best to be understanding of mistakes however garauntees on hives will be voided if: 

    • Hive is consistantly wet due to sprinkler or other deliberate watering that could be avoided. Rain does not apply.​

    • Pesticide is used on or close to the hive.

    • The hive is opened excessively (any more than 4 times a year is excessive, especially seperating the two main brood boxes of a hive).

    • The hive is split by someone other than us.

    • The hive is moved incorrectly from the agreed location or is moved to a less suitable location. The optimum location is defined as a North East facing position that recieves full sun in winter and morning sun in summer untill 10 am after which partial shade continues for the rest of the day.​​ Please consult us before moving a hive.

Pricing and payment

  • All prices are in AUD.

  • Payment methods accepted: cash on delivery, credit/debit card, PayPal, and bank transfer.

  • Orders are processed once full payment has cleared.

 

Delivery and pickup

  • We deliver or arrange collection per region availability. Please confirm timeframes when ordering.

  • You are responsible for providing accurate delivery information. We are not liable for failures due to wrong addresses.

 

Returns and refunds (non-live items)

  • Live bee products are not eligible for return except under valid quality concerns as described.

  • Non-live items (boxes, tools, kits) may be returned within 14 days in original, unused condition. Return shipping is at your cost.

  • Please contact us before returning goods.

 

Health and liability

  • Bee products are mostly low-risk, but some individuals may have allergic reactions.

  • You acknowledge that colony viability depends on external factors like climate, hive placement, and human care.

  • We make no guarantees about honey yield, hive splitting outcomes, or long-term colony survival unless stated otherwise in product description.

  • To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages.

 

Intellectual property

  • All materials on the site—text, images, guides—are proprietary to Native Bees AU or its licensors. Unauthorized reproduction is prohibited.

 

Privacy and data use

  • We adhere to our Privacy Policy regarding collection and use of your personal information (for newsletters, orders, support). 

 

Dispute resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia.

  • Any legal disputes must be handled within NSW jurisdiction.

 

Changes to terms and conditions

  • We may update these Terms occasionally and will post the revised version along with the date at the top. Continued use indicates acceptance of any changes.
